Account & Data Deletion

You can request deletion of your account and data in either of these ways:

• Ask your school. Because your school owns and controls the records it manages in Eduin, your school administrator can deactivate your account and remove or correct records from within Eduin. This is usually the fastest route.
• Email us. Write to [email protected] from the email address on your account, with the subject “Account deletion request”. Tell us your name and your school so we can verify the request. We may ask a question or two to confirm your identity before acting.

When a deletion request is completed, we delete or irreversibly anonymise:

• Your login credentials and account profile (name, email, role).
• Any device push-notification tokens and installation identifiers tied to your account.
• Personal photos you uploaded, where they are not part of a record the school must retain.

Some information may be kept after your account is closed, because the school — not you individually — is the controller of its academic records and has its own record-keeping duties:

• Academic and administrative records the school is legally or operationally required to keep (for example attendance, marks, and discipline history), which remain under the school's control. Requests about these should be directed to your school.
• Limited records we must retain to meet legal obligations or to resolve disputes, retained only for as long as required and then deleted.
• Aggregated or anonymised data that can no longer identify you.

We action verified deletion requests within 30 days. If a longer period is required to complete deletion across backups, we will delete the data within our normal backup cycle and will not restore it.
